New York State has launched a critical solution to address one of the greatest challenges facing states as they diligently pursue the reopening of businesses and revitalization of the economy. Prior to this week, there existed no viable mechanism to validate and credential the millions of vaccination records held by New Yorkers and Americans nationwide. The inability to authenticate vaccination records has been particularly detrimental to the reopening of large venues and mass gatherings. The app can be freely downloaded by any person, business, or venue in the United States, and is currently equipped to validate vaccination passes issued in New York, California, Hawaii, Louisiana, Virginia, and soon, Washington state. This enhanced coordination among the states will empower businesses to reopen their doors with confidence and will bring New Yorkers closer together after being separated for so long.
