“The purpose of a police officer is to protect life and property and preserve the peace… Good policing involves intelligence. It involves people on the street, knowing what’s going to happen, anticipating the violence that could erupt, and putting resources to apply them… That’s part of the irony here. You have to establish the rule of law. There is no protected speech that is violent.”
